Yunho is a versatile and talented South Korean singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor.

He is best known as the leader and one of the two members of the popular K-pop duo TVXQ, which has achieved immense success and recognition in Asia and beyond.

He is also a solo artist who has released two mini-Korean and two Japanese albums.

Early Life

Yunho was born and raised in Gwangju, South Korea, on February 6, 1986. He has one younger sister. Several members of Yunho’s family worked in the legal industry, and Yunho’s childhood dream was to be a prosecutor.

However, he also had a passion for music and dance and formed a dance team called A+ with his friends in middle school. They competed in various dance competitions around the country.

He auditioned for SM Entertainment in 1999 and became the company’s first official trainee. His family, who suffered greatly from the 1997 Asian financial crisis, were initially against his decision to become a singer.

They left the company and formed a new group called JYJ. Yunho and Changmin decided to stay with SM Entertainment and continued to promote TVXQ as a duo.
